Question 1

What is Thai massage?

Accepted Answer

Thai massage is a traditional healing therapy that combines acupressure, gentle stretching, and rhythmic compression along the body's energy lines. Unlike oil-based massage, traditional Thai massage is performed on a massage bed with the client fully clothed, helping to relieve tension, improve flexibility, and restore energy balance.

Question 2

What should I wear for a Thai massage?

Accepted Answer

For traditional Thai massage, wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy movement, as you remain clothed throughout. For oil-based treatments like Aromatherapy or Deep Tissue Massage, we provide towels and you'll undress to your comfort level. Our therapists at Aromathai always ensure your privacy and comfort.

Question 3

How long is a typical massage session?

Accepted Answer

Sessions at Aromathai typically range from 60 minutes to 4 hours depending on the treatment you choose. A 60-minute session is the most popular and allows enough time to work thoroughly across the whole body.

Question 4

What's the difference between Thai massage and deep tissue massage?

Accepted Answer

Traditional Thai massage uses stretching, compression, and acupressure to ease tension and improve flexibility. Deep Tissue Massage focuses on applying firmer, sustained pressure to release persistent muscle tightness and knots in the deeper layers of muscle. Many clients with persistent back, neck, or shoulder tightness prefer Deep Tissue.

Question 5

Is Thai massage painful?

Accepted Answer

Thai massage should not be painful. You may feel a deep stretch or firm pressure, which most people find relaxing and relieving. Our therapists adjust the intensity to suit you, so always let us know your preference.

Question 6

What are the benefits of Thai massage?

Accepted Answer

Thai massage can help reduce muscle tension and stiffness, improve flexibility and range of motion, ease stress, boost circulation, and leave you feeling re-energised. Many of our clients in Horsforth and across Leeds book regular sessions to manage everyday stress and physical strain.

Question 7

Do I need to book in advance?

Accepted Answer

We recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time, especially for evenings and weekends. You can book online at aromathai-booking.co.uk or call us on 0113 259 1377.

Question 8

Accepted Answer

Question 9

Can I get a couples massage?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we offer Couples Massage, perfect for partners, friends, or family members who'd like to enjoy a relaxing treatment together in the same room. Please book in advance so we can prepare two therapists for you.

Question 10

How often should I get a massage?

Accepted Answer

This depends on your needs. For general wellness and stress relief, once or twice a month works well for most people. If you're managing ongoing tension or after intense activity, weekly sessions may be more beneficial. Our therapists can recommend a schedule during your visit.
